Queens Botanic Garden Fountain by Allison L. Williams

The fountain was pretty and it had a wonderful sound. I was concerned with how to delineate water against the dark stone. The water patterns reminded me of vortices created by flow forms.

As I drew, I attracted onlookers. It was uncomfortable. During Barbara's on site classes, and at earlier on-site classes at Art and Design High School with Mrs. Trowerman, there were many students which greatly diminished individual attention from pedestrians.

I left the garden feeling I had accomplished something, an exercise in paying attention and enjoying an organic setting.
