Past Life Regression is probably the most familiar of all spiritual studies. Mediums, psychics, and healers become adept to the point where they experience what the client is experiencing.

Past Life Regression was made famous by Bud Hopkins, a researcher who regressed people who claimed to have been abducted by non-humans. Others who have contributed to making this process familiar were Betty and Barney Hill, an interracial couple whose loss time during a road trip was inexplicable. Regression helped them to understand why. This experience was made into a movie starring Estelle Parsons and James Earl Jones.

Mr. Jones delivered a powerfully emotional performance of Mr. Hill's experience of events he "relived", so unknown to him prior to his memory opening up. Past Life Regression experiences vary from person to person. As some people hear better than others, smell better than others, sense better, etc. one's recall may not be intense or elaborate. That does not mean the information that you get won't be. There are different ways of feeling and reporting it. Focusing may assist you in reminding yourself what the purpose for the regression is and what is relevant to your life and growth now.

Tellis Papastavro wrote the book, The Gnosis and the Law which contained:

"When a spirit is re-embodied, a band of forgetfulness is placed on his forehead so that he would not remember his past lives- both good and evil. This is done in mercy for the weight of rememberance may be too much for the emotional body to stand when added to the experience of the current life." (p.166)

From The Gnosis and the Law:

"...When an individual is born from God's Heart, he, at the moment is shown his Divine Plan and his service to mankind for all succeeding generations. He kneels before the Father of All Life and takes a vow to fulfill that Plan to the best of his or her ability. He is given limitless Energy and all the Powers of Creation and sent forth time and time again into embodiment to fulfill that vow through a flesh body..."
